Harry Styles presented Olly Murs with a Brit Award | Entertainment News

Harry Styles gave Olly Murs one of his Brit Awards.

The ‘Watermelon Sugar’ hitmaker was unable to attend the 2018 ceremony, so the 38-year-old singer – who has been nominated for six awards at the event over the years but has never won – took accepted the Video of the Year award for ‘Sign of the Times’ on behalf of her boyfriend.

And Olly was stunned a few weeks later when he opened a mysterious package to find he had finally received his own Brit from the former One Direction singer.

Speaking to the Heart Bingo blog, Olly said: “I love Harry’s Styles new album and I love Harry. Harry gave me his first Brit for ‘Sign Of The Times’.

“He couldn’t attend the Brit Awards so I accepted it on his behalf. I said jokingly, ‘I’ll take it because I’ve never won a Brit.

“I didn’t think of that because when you walk backstage you have to give it back to one of the producers.

“About two weeks later a present arrived at my house and I opened it. It was from Harry saying, ‘All my love mate. He’s here.’

“And it has my name on it. And of course, Harry’s name and “Sign Of The Times”. But I’m like, ‘I got a Brit Award from Harry Styles!’ »

Olly previously explained how “dangerous” it was when supporting One Direction on tour because fans were constantly throwing things on stage that they hoped to pass on to Harry and his bandmates.

He said: “When I was on the One Direction tour, we had all kinds of things thrown at us on stage. I think the weirdest things that were thrown at me were like passports, lipsticks and there had quite a few cell phones.

“They wanted you to pick up the phone, take a picture and give it back to them. Fans were so obsessed, especially when touring with the One Direction boys. Fans just wanted one of them touch their property.

“But when you have 15 phones flying at you, it started to get dangerous at some point. I think they had to tell the fans that you could stop throwing things on stage because someone got really hurt by something thrown at them. II don’t remember, maybe it was even me.”
